Perspective

Our circumstances settle in
Like a blinding shoreline fog.
Hopelessness creeps in as we wonder
What the sting of death has wrought.

As time passes in slow motion,
And the hurt further grips our soul,
We fear when the next shoe will drop –
As notions of endless fear unfolds.

Pain and suffering is Satan’s playground –
Where God’s timing is challenged most.
Will He be our fortress and strong tower?
Will His grace be something I can boast?

For in the darkness we see no hope –
A blow to the truth of what is right.
Yet hope still rises above the ashes
As God reveals His glory’s light.

The truth of Who God really is –
That is impossible to change.
It is only if we choose to believe
In the power of Jesus’ name.

That brings forth God’s goodness and hope
That Satan maliciously misrepresents.
Thus the revelation of the Cross
Is goodness and hope’s conquering defense.

So lift up our eyes, dear Lord.
Our weakness blinds us to Your hope.
Reveal Your greater power,
So our fledgling faith may grow.

There is no death in eternity’s life –
Only two paths for us to choose.
Thank you for giving us Jesus
For in His hands we will never lose.

Hope for better days
Despite the clinging shoreline fog.
In Jesus name we no longer fear
What the sting of death has wrought.

Come And See

Come and see.
Come and see.
If real hope is what you need.
Come and see.
Come and see.
The blessed One from Galilee.

Is your heart broken?
Are you all alone?
Do your tears flood your eyes?
There is goodness.
There is love.
That overcomes the darkest night.

Come and see.
Come and see.
The One who bled and died for thee.
Come and see.
Come and see.
The One who won the victory.

He’s the Son of God.
The Prince of Peace.
The One who came to set you free.
Come and see.
Come and see.
Him who loves you unconditionally.

Old things are past.
True forgiveness reigns.
There is hope for brighter days.
He came to heal
And to restore
And to show you a new way.

So come and see.
Come and see.
The One who knows your every need.
Jesus saves you
By His grace
If you only choose to just believe.

I Need You Now And Forever

All the hurt; all the pain;
All the guilt and all the shame;
All the doubt that fills my brain;
I need the peace that’s in Your name.

All the hate and all the anger;
All the fear from all the danger;
All alone just like a stranger;
I need the hope from the manger.

You are my King. You are my Father.
You are my Lord. You’re my Savior.
You are my joy and my Redeemer.
I need you now and forever.

In Your Word, I find a home.
In Your Word, You can be known.
In Your Word, seeds are sown.
In Your Word, I’m not alone.

In Your love, You’re always near
In Your love, there is no fear.
In Your love, You dry my tears
In Your love, my faith is clear.

You’re my King. You’re my Father.
You are my Lord and my Savior.
You are my joy and my Redeemer.
I need you now and forever.

Learning the Right Perspective

Lord, what is it with these people
You keep bringing into my life?
Don’t you know they drive me crazy?
But for me that’s a short ride.

I know I’m to be your hands and feet.
I’m supposed to be the salt and light,
But if I hear one more complaint,
I’m going to go out of my mind.

He said, “Now my beloved son
They are in just the right place.
They’re there to teach you to love.
They’re there to reveal My grace.”

“For where you think you’re so strong
Is really where you are so weak.
Where there’s too much about you,
There is no room for Me.”

But Lord they will not see the light,
And they don’t believe what is true.
They don’t listen to what I say.
They don’t get life can be made new.

The Lord said, “You’re job is to love.
But what do they see in your face?
Are they before another judge?
Or do they see forgiving grace?”

“For where you think you’re so strong
Is really where you are so weak.
If you will choose to step back,
Then I will choose to increase.”

“Because I’m not here to condemn
I’m here to seek and save the lost.
You see the price you have to pay
But I want them to see the Cross.”

“So my beloved son do you now see?
You’re to look at them with My eyes.
Then you can put your gavel down.
And show them what My love is like.”

When You Come Again

Lord, I struggle in this world
When I hear Your name maligned.
They don’t see Your love for them –
The way we were designed.

The sin that deceives them
Is a curtain that covers the Truth.
When will they see the Light?
When will they see You?

When You come again,
Everyone will surely know.
You are the King of Kings,
And the Lord of Lords.

Every knee will bow –
Every tongue confess.
You come in all truth
And in righteousness.

Forgive me for not taking You
To everyone I know.
Whether it’s fear or offense,
Or I just see them as a foe.

They are not the enemy.
You love us all the same.
What will it take for them
To see You in this way?

When You come again,
Everyone will surely know.
You are the King of Kings,
And the Lord of Lords.

Every knee will bow –
Every tongue confess.
You come in all truth
And in righteousness.

Lord, You are merciful –
Full of truth and of grace.
Tear off the blindfolds,
And let them see Your face.

They’ll see Your forgiveness
Found at the cross.
Oh may they see Your glory
Before they’re forever lost.

When You come again,
Everyone will surely know.
You are the King of Kings
And the Lord of Lords.

Every knee will bow –
Every tongue confess.
You come in all truth
And in righteousness.

This Is The Greatest Truth

Don’t believe the lie
That God is mad at you.
If that were true
Why did Jesus go to the Cross?

God sees the pain
And the sorrow of your sin.
He knows what you need
Is to be forgiven.

So God sent His Son down
To pay the price
To forgive all your sin
To be your sacrifice.

Because God loves you
This is the greatest truth.

God’s Word is full of promises
Of the truth of Who He is.
You are not alone.
You do have hope.

If you take a step
And choose to believe
God sees your heart
And knows what you need.

That God sent His Son Down
To pay the price.
To shed His blood
And give you new life.

Because God loves you.
This is the greatest truth.

That peace He brings
Is an amazing sound.
The fears of the lost
Are gone when you are found

By a God of grace
Who wants you to know
That He’ll never forsake you.
He will never let you go.

Because God sent His Son down
To pay the price.
To be your hope.
To be your Light.

Because God loves you.
This is the greatest truth.

A Conversation of Conversion

Traveling on this life’s winding path,
Wanting to move forward but stuck in the past;
The things I’ve done still haunt my soul.
They steal from the hope of being made whole.

But then I hear a voice speaking within
“All those things can be forgiven.
The moment you choose to believe in Me.
Their chains are gone; you’ll be set free.”

How is that possible? How could it be?
Why would You die for someone like me?
You know I still stumble, and You know I still fall
The ghosts of their consequences relentlessly call.

“Condemning and judging is not why I came.
You can’t know My Father with your guilt and your shame.
He longs to hold you in His perfect love.
But you had to be washed by My holy blood.”

It’s all so hard to understand.
I look in the mirror, and I see the same man.
But by my confession of You as Savior and Lord
You tell me I am suddenly transformed?

“Yes, My child, you speak the truth.
You’ve been born again. You’ve been made new.
You have new life that is full of real hope.
The future is sure, and I’ll never let go.”

How is that possible? How could it be?
All of this happens just because I believe?
Isn’t there more or something I should do?
This kind of promise seems too good to be true.

“There’s nothing more of you that is required
My work on the cross put out the fire
Of the wrath of My Father – the price was paid
I cannot lie, and I keep every promise I make.”

That is amazing! I don’t know what to say.
Where do I go? Will You show me the way?
Help me to believe and know what is true.
Quiet the voices, so I only hear You.

“Take My hand, and follow Me.
I’ll provide your every need.
There’s nothing to fear – don’t be afraid.
In My grace you are perfectly safe.”

The Arrival

I see my faith before my eyes.
I see my King – He is alive!
On my knees before His throne
He says to me, “Welcome home!”

He picks me up. He holds me tight.
He wipes the tears from my eyes.
He smiles and says, “My loved one,
My faithful servant, well done!”

The angels sing, “Allelu”.
The saints all shout, “We love You!”
Then with one voice, we all rejoice.
“O praise the Lord! O praise the Lord!”

No more lies – only truth.
There is rest and life anew.
All the lost are now all found.
We are all here – safe and sound.

The angels sing, “Allelu”
The saints all shout, “We love You!”
Then with one voice, we all rejoice.
“O praise the Lord! O praise the Lord!”

Arise and Sing!

The sky is filled
With songs of angels
On this winter’s eve.
They’ve come to Earth
To announce the birth
Of the Prince of Peace.

This shivering child
Who’s meek and mild –
God is now with us.
He’s come to win
Our souls from sin.
His name is Jesus.

Arise and sing
To the hope He brings
On this Christmas day.
This baby boy
Is our source of joy.
Come and bring Him praise!

For me and you
He comes in truth
Of Who God really is.
He is what is right
He is the Light
And forever lives

To intercede
For our every need
And give us new life
God has come
To overcome
On this Christmas night.

Arise and sing
To the hope He brings
On this Christmas day.
This baby boy
Is our source of joy.
Come and bring Him praise.

He’s come to be
For you and me
God’s promise fulfilled.
With His victory
At Calvary
Death’s sting is stilled.

So come and embrace
This gift of grace
And mercy from above.
We are free at last
From our sinful past
With the peace of God’s love.

Oh arise and sing
To the hope He brings
On this Christmas day
This baby boy
Is our source of joy.
Come and bring Him praise.

The Ladder of Faith

Father, I’m on my knees
Before Your throne
A temporary visit
To my future home

I’m empty and weak
At the lowest of low
Nothing to cling to
No signs of hope

So amidst all this pain
I reach out for Your hand
By searching Your holy Word
And finding the Son of Man

You breathe life into me
And the fear falls away
With each step I climb
On the ladder of faith

I’ll stand strong and fight
On the wings of Your grace
With each step I climb
On the ladder of faith

So I’ll keep going
One step at a time
The victories before me
And the failures behind

One day I’ll arrive
At the highest wrung
Coming face-to-face
To Your beautiful Son

And I’ll give Him thanks
For delivering me
He was my hope for
And substance not seen.

You breathe life into me
And the fear falls away
With each step I climb
On the ladder of faith

I’ll stand strong and fight
On the wings of Your grace
With each step I climb
On the ladder of faith
