I heard a voice
That speaks to me.
Is it friend or foe?
Should I believe?
What it says
About my faith –
Am I saved
Alone by grace?
If the voice says,
It’s not enough.
You must do more
To earn God’s love.
Then I’ll know
This voice I heard
Is an enemy
To God’s holy Word.
For what God says
Is faithful and true.
He does not change
And can’t lie to you.
He stands by His Word –
Never leaves your side.
Oh praise the Lord!
May He be magnified!
So when that voice
Speaks to me,
“You are My child
For you believe.”
“In My only Son
Whose sacrifice
For all your sins
He paid the price.”
“He lives today
And intercedes for you
Against that voice
That accuses you.”
“Of all your sins –
The wrongs you’ve done.
They’re all forgiven
Through Jesus’ blood.”
For what God says
Is faithful and true.
He does not change
And can’t lie to you.
He stands by His Word –
Never leaves your side.
